E.A. Petrusch, 80, Died Wednesday
Emil Albert Petrusch, 80 year old resident of Marion, passed away at 9:45 p.m. Christmas day at his home, 2461 Fifth avenue, after a long illness.
Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at the Yocom chapel with the Rev. Carl T. Wuerffel officiating. Pallbearers were Walter Reinsch, George Lutz, Harvey Montgomery, and William Claus. Mildred Gillmore Cummins sang "The Old Rugged Cross". Burial was in the Cedar Memorial park.
Mr. Petrusch was born Sept. 22, 1866 in Konigsberg, Germany, the son of Mr. and Mr.s Emil A. Petrusch. He married Anna Mohr at Hemme, Germany, May 10, 1894. Four years later the couple came to the United States and settled at Oxford Junction. In 1900 they moved to Marion to make their permanent home. Mr. Petrusch worked for the Milwaukee Railroad for more than 40 years. HE was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran church. Mr. and Mrs. Petrusch celebrated their golden wedding anniversary two years ago.
Surviving are his widow, four daughters, Amelia and Emma, at home; Mrs. Marianne McHugh and Mrs. Bernice Forde, both of Cedar Rapids; three sons, Albert, Eitel and Arthur all of Marion; and nine grandchildren, Elaine, Joan, Donna, Anita, Ruth, and Linda Petrusch, all of Marion; Shirley Pattenberger[sic], Judy and Tommy McHugh, all of Cedar Rapids.
One grandson, Jimmy Plattenberger[sic], died Jan. 14, 1946, at Cedar Rapids.
