Wallace W. Prather, 44, of Rural Route 3 and a resident of Marion the past 19 years, passed away at 10 p.m. Tuesday, May 2 at his home. He was born the son of Wallace M. and Margaret Ann Porter Prather on Sept. 2, 1927 at Oakley, Kan. On Dec. 18, 1949 at Oakley, Kans. he was married to Lois Marie Gillman. Mr. Prather was a graduate of Kansas State and had served with the U.S. Air Force during World War II. He had been employed as an electrical engineer with Collins Radio Co. for 19 years.
Surviving are his wife; a daughter, Pamela Kay; and two sons, Michael Lynn and Jeffery Wallace, all at home; his mother, Mrs. Wallace Prather of Oakley, Kans., and a brother, William E. Prather of Denver, Colo.
Services were held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 5 at the First United Methodist Church in Marion, conducted by the Rev. Glen W. Lamb. Interment was in Oak Shade Cemetery. Friends may if they wish, contribute to the Cancer Research Fund as a memorial.
