Floyd Dixon Services Wednesday, May 15
Floyd Dixon, 59, of Rural Route 3, Marion, died at 11 p.m. Sunday, May 12, at a Cedar Rapids hospital. He was born the son of James and Anna Elizabeth Colby Dixon April 27, 1904 at Lyle, Minn. He moved to Cedar Rapids as a boy and has lived in the Marion Community for the past 22 years.

On Aug. 24, 1942 he was married to Rowena Coon at Waterloo. Mr. Dixon was employed by the Marion Rural School as a mechanic. He served in the Army of the U.S. from Aug. 17, 1942 until June 17, 1944.

Surviving in addition to his wife are a son Robert Burgess of Cedar Rapids and Mrs. Noel (Ruth) Arbuckle of Savanna, Ill.; six grandchildren, Susan Sally, Sheryl, Noel Allen and Michael Arbuckle, and Linda Burgess; two brothers, John of Oshkosh, Wis., and Claude of Cedar Rapids, and four sisters, Edna Anderson and Ruth Tanhoff, Estherville, Eva Thatcher, of St. Paul, Minn., and Mrs. Thomas (Mabel) Elliott of Seattle, Wash.

Services were Wednesday, May 15, at 1:30 p.m. at the Murdock chapel in Marion, conducted by Rev. Herbert G. Kohl. Burial was in Oak Shade cemetery.
