Hiram Massingale Died Tuesday Nite
Hiram S. Massingale, formerly of 777 Third ave., Marion, passed away at 9:40 p.m., Tuesday, July 14, at a Springville nursing home.
He was born April 17, 1868 at Jefferson, Missouri. He resided in Marion almost 50 years and was a retired Milwaukee railroad employee. His wife, the former Ella R. Spicer, passed away at Cedar Rapids on April 9, 1951..
Mr. Massingale was a member of the Marion Free Methodist church. Surviving are two daughters: Mrs. C.E. (Iva) Barkwill, Marion, and Mrs. L.W. (Clarissa) Griffith, Roanoke, Ind.; three grandchildren and four great grandchildren. A daughter Minnie Griffith passed away in 1946, and a son, Herman in 1926.
Funeral arrangements will be announced later. Friends may call at the Murdoch chapel, Marion after 3 p.m., Thursday.
