ROBERT E. BOWEN
Robert E. Bowen, Sr., 79, a retired farmer and resident Northeast of Marion since 1905, passed away in a Cedar Rapids hospital at 7:50 a.m. Wednesday, March 18. He was born the son of Ezekiel and Melissa Michiel[sic] Bowen on Jan. 22, 1885 at Springfield, Ill. On Aug. 26, 1918 he was married to Mary Feiertag at Des Moines. Mr. Bowen moved to this community from near Springfield, Ill., 59 years ago.
Surviving in addition to his wife, are two sons, Robert L. Bowen and Harold E. Bowen both of Marion; three grandchildren, David, Pamela and Sylvia; three sisters, Mrs. Mabel Stewart of Whittier, Mrs. Della Travis of Shueyville and Mrs. Gary (Olive) Morgan of Coggon. Preceding him in death were a son, Cecil C. in 1956 and two sisters, Grace Lange and Emma.
Services were 1:30 p.m. Saturday, March 21 at the Murdoch Chapel in Marion, conducted by the Rev. Clyde Scott of Sumner. Burial was in Oak Shade Cemetery.
