Alice R. Tower, 78, of 209 First St., a longtime Alburnett resident, passed away at 11:40 p.m. April 3 at her home following a lingering illness.
She was born the daughter of Charles and Eleatha Stirsky Naylor on Sept. 7, 1907 at Alburnett. On May 31, 1937 at Cedar Rapids, she was married to John Tower, who died in 1977.
Tower was a member of the Galilee Baptist Church in Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include a daughter, Karen Miller of Hendersonville, Tenn.; two grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; a brother, Kermit Naylor of Alburnett; a sister, Gladys Petrak of Alburnett and three nephews.
Services were held April 7 at the Murdoch Chapel in Marion. It was conducted by Pastor Gary Novak of the Galilee Baptist Church. Interment was in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
A memorial fund has been established.
