Thursday June 23, 1910 The Marion Sentinel
--The death of A.B. Dumont, Jr., who was called "Boy" Dumont from childhood, occurred Thursday night of last week at the home of his aunt, Mrs. Lottie Dawson. He was taken with tuberculosis last November, and in February he went with John Ross Jr., to Colorado, where he worked and slept outdoors, with the hopes that this kind of life would prove beneficial, but to no avail, and he came back to his mother's house in Cedar Rapids the week before his death, coming to his aunt's home in Marion only a couple of days previous to the end. The funeral was held Saturday at 3 o'clock from the house, Rev. S.R. Beatty officiating. The deceased was born and raised in Marion. He would have been twenty years old had he lived till Sept. 23. He was the eldest son of Charles W. and Rebecca Dumont. His father died suddenly in St. Louis a couple of years ago, where he went for treatment. He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Rebecca Dumont, three sisters, and younger brother, as follows: Mrs. Walter J. Kelly, of Dubuque; Miss Maude Dumont, Dorothy, and Fred, of Cedar Rapids, besides other relatives and a host of friends.
