John "Bert" Nedrow, 82, of 556 Eighth St., Marion, died Wednesday afternoon in his home following a long illness.
Born Sept. 5, 1907, at Mount Vernon, he married Irene Tudeen Sept. 3, 1927, at Marion. Mr. Nedrow was an inspector at Cherry-Burrell for 42 years, retiring in 1972. He was a 46-year member of Marion Christian Church, where he served as an elder and Sunday school teacher of sixth, seventh and eighth grades for 40 years, a member of Marion lodge No. 6 AF & AM and Cherry-Burrell Retirees Club, and past president of Marion Lions Club.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Beverly Garnatz Winter of Marion; a brother, Marvin of Cedar Rapids; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services: 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Marion Christian Church, by the Rev. James Warren and the Rev. Chris Coble. Private committal services: Oak Shade Cemetery, Marion. Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. today in Murdoch Chapel, Marion, and after 1:30 p.m. Saturday in the church....
