W.E. PERRYMAN
W.E. Perryman, for several years a resident of Marion, but for the past eleven years, of Cedar Rapids, died sudenly[sic] at his home 1545 D Avenue Cedar Rapids, Sunday afternoon at 5:30. Mr. Perryman had been in poor health for some time but his death came as a blow to his family, who had been visiting with him but a few minutes before the end came.
William Perryman was born Dec. 6, 1865, near Amber, in Jones County Iowa. Here hhis boyhood, and part of his married life was spent. He was married to Pheobe Jane Lear, March 29, 1883; in Central City, Neb., and to them were born ten children, eight of whom, with his widow survive him.
Mr. and Mrs. Perryman, lived in Chicago, returned to Amber, and coming to Marion, where they lived for many years. Mr. Perryman was employed as a painter and paper hanger for Starbuck's. He was also employed for some time as a passenger brakeman on the Milwaukee railroad. After he moved to Cedar Rapids, he established a business for himself, doing contract decoration work. He was re-elected a director of the State Master Painter's association recently. He was member of The Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen, which lodge had part in the funeral services.
Surviving him besides his wife are his children, Mrs. Ida McDonald of Center Junction, Charles Perryman of Pocatello, Idaho, Joseph Perryman of Long Beach, Mrs. Clara Breed of Marion, Helen Perryman of Des Moines, and Robert, Roy and Mabelle at home; Two sisters, Mrs. J.N. Ramsey and Mrs. Albert Cripe, of Minneapolis.
Funeral services were held at the home 1545 D avenue, Cedar REapids, Thursday. Burial was in Oak Shade cemetery.
