The Late Lefee Fowler.
----------------------
The funeral of Miss Lefee Fowler occurred last Friday afternoon at the M.E. Church, the pastor, Rev. S.R. Beatty officiating. The church was well filled with friends of the deceased and many floral offerings attested to some extent the respect in which she was held by all who knew her. Rev. Beatty, who had known her but a short time, but had heard much of her beautiful life, paid a most worthy tribute to her memory, taking as his text "She hath done what she could." He also read the following obituary, which had been furnished him:
Miss Lefee Fowler was born August 2, 1866, in Johnson County, Iowa, and died Wednesday, November 11, 1908, at her home in Marion, Iowa. In early life she joined the Free Methodist Church, and later united with the First Methodist Episcopal Church of Marion, of which she was a faithful member. Miss Fowler's life was spent in doing good. For many years she was her mother's chief support and comfort. She also supported one of her brothers for a long time. The great characteristic of her life was that of self-sacrifice, which formed expression in deeds of kindness and words of love for those who were dependent upon her. For a long time she was a patient sufferer, especially for the last five months, and when life's mission was fulfilled, she was ready for the call, "Come up higher, and enter into the joy of your Lord." She leaves her mother and two brothers, Mrs. Fowler of Marion; Frank of Omaha, and Tom, of Cedar Rapids.
