George O. Stone Dies; Was Marion Pioneer
George O. Stone, 88, died at 12:45 a.m. Tuesday at his home, 1810 First avenue, Marion.
Born May 12, 1862 in Fitzwilliam, N.H., Mr. Stone came to Marion with his parents in 1867. He moved to Nebraska in 1875 and in 1889 retured to Marion where he farmed until his retirement in 1912.
In 1891, Mr. Stone was married to Florence Kinkead of Whittier. She preceded him in death. In 1936 he was married to Mary Gruewell.
Survivors, besides his wife, are two sons, Clyde R., Iowa Falls, and Howard D. Stone, Coggon; two daughters, Mrs. Marguerette Krause of Alden and Mrs. Eldeva Neilson of Central City; a sister, Alice Pierce, Englewood, Calif.; 16 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.
The body is at Yocom-Murdoch funeral home, where friends may call. Services will be held in the Presbyterian church at a time to be announced later.
