James F. Blessing, 63, of 1701 Ellis boulevard NW, died Tuesday following a brief illness.
Born July 24, 1910 in Lancaster, Mo., he had been a resident of Cedar Rapids since 1950. He and Cora Mollenhauer Oliphant were married July 3, 1953, in Cedar Rapids. Mr. Blessing was a veteran of World war II.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two daughters, Patsy Singley, of Silver Springs, Md., and Nancy Minor of St. Petersburg, Fla., two step sons, Wendell and Dale Oliphant, both of Rowley; a sister, Ruby Bergman, Queen City, Mo., four grandchildren and four step-grandchildren.
Services: Friday at 1:30 p.m. at Lafayette Christian church by Forrest Arnold. Burial: Lafayette cemetery. Friends may call at Turner chapel west until 10 a.m. Friday and at the church after 12:30 p.m. Friday.
