W.A. Reep, 70 Passed Away Sat.
Funeral services for William A. Reep, 70 year old Marion resident and president of the Linn County Old Settlers Association, were conducted Wednesday afternoon at the Yocom-Murdoch Funeral Home. The Rev. C.V.R. DeJong officiated. Masonic services were conducted by Marion Lodge No. 6, A.F. & A.M. Entombment was in the Chapel of Memories in Cedar Memorial Park cemetery.
Mr. Reep died at 9:15 a.m. Saturday of a heart attack while he was helping unload some lumber at the H.L. Melish is building. ing.[sic]
Surviving are two granddaughters, Mrs. Phyllis Beach Schindler of Cedar Rapids, who was reared in his home and Miss Mary Jane Beach of Cedar Rapids.
Mr. Reed was a retired Milwaukee railroad conductor.
Mr. Reep was born Sept. 15, 1881 at Marion and had lived his entire lifetime here. He was married Dec. 21, 1902 at Anamosa to Nellie Gray who passed away Aug. 13, 1951, at a Cedar Rapids hospital. He was employed by the Milwaukee Road for 45 years retiring Sept. 1, 1946.
Mr. Reep was a member of the Presbyterian church, Marion Lodge No. 6, A.F. & A.M.; Marion Chapter No. 10, R.A.M.; and Past Commander of Patmos Commandery No. 27, K.T.; El Kahir Shrine; a Past Patron of Marion Chapter No. 281, O.E.S.; Brotherhood of Railway Trainmen; Order of Railway Conductors; The Milwaukee Veterans Association; Kiwanis club
