Henry J. Stick, 85, Died Sunday After A Brief Illness
Another Linn county pioneer has gone. Henry J. (Harry) Stick died at 1:00 a.m., Sunday, January 20, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Marvin Brewer, 301 Eighth street, SW. in Cedar Rapids, following a brief illness.
He was born July 17, 1860 at Bertram, was married to Minnie M. Bunger north of Marion June 28, 1900, who passed away at Marion, December 16, 1921. Surviving is their one daughter, Mrs. Frances Brewer of Cedar Rapids, and one brother, J.A. Stick of Center Point.
The deceased conducted store at Lafayette and at Alburnett, and later farmer, but for the past ten years has made his home in Cedar Rapids.
He was a member of the Christian church.
Funeral services were conducted at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday from the Yocom chapel in Marion, with the Rev. I.E. Linkletter, pastor of the Second Christian church of Cedar Rapids in charge. The bearers were Howard Titus and J.B. Emmons of Marion, and R.B. Booth and James Garnant of Cedar Rapids.
Burial was in Oak Shade cemetery.
