Jessie O. Coonrod, 98, of Robins, and a lifelong resident of Linn County, died Feb. 16 at Hallmark Hursing Home in Mt. Vernon. The daughter of John H. and Estella (Byerly) Blackford, she was born Jan. 15, 1883, at Marion.
Surviving are two sons, Virgil E. Coonrod of Cedar Rapids, and Ivan D. Coonrod of Toddville; seven grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren; one brother, Harry Blackford of Marion; and two sisters, Effie Olinger and Winnie Blackford.
Services were held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 19 at the Murdoch Chapel in Marion, conducted by Pastor Billy Vanhooser of the Toddville Church of Christ. Interment was in Oak Shade Cemetery in Marion.
