Funeral Services for F.M. Coonrod Were Held Tuesday

Francis Madison Coonrod, 83, died at his home, 538 Eigth avenue, Marion, at 8:30 Sunday morning following a long illness.

He was born in New Jersey June 22, 1855. He was married in 1883 at Tiffin, Ohio, to Mary Ann Meyers, and they lived ten years at Morrison, Ill., before coming to Iowa, settling first on a farm four miles west of Cedar Rapids, and then in 1895 coming to Marion. His wife and one son, Arthur W., preceded him in death. There are two surviving children, Warren J., of Center Point, and a daughter, Mrs. Hazel Heck of Williard, Ohio. A half-brother and a half-sister, seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon from the Yocom chapel with the service in charge of the Rev. C.V.R. De Jong, paster of the Presbyterian church. Burial was in Oak Shade cemetery.
