Edwin A. Plotz passed away suddenly early Wednesday morning at his home, 809 6th ave., Marion.
He was born April 23, 1904, the son of Fred and Anna Ustohol Plotz of Cedar Rapids. On June 7, 1924 he was married at Cedar Rapids to Miss Ellyne Tudeen and they lived in Cedar Rapids where he owned and operated a grocery store at Mt. Vernon Ave. at 14th Street, S.E. until two years ago when he sold his grocery and moved to Marion.
He has been working in the shipping department of Allis-Chalmer Co. since that time.
Mr. Plotz was a member of the First Baptist church of Cedar Rapids; the Waltonians and the Goodfellows club.
Surviving in addition to his wife and parents are two sons: William, St. Petersburg, Florida, and James Plotz, Cedar Rapids; two granddaughters: Kim, Cedar Rapids, and Trudy Ann Plotz, St. Petersburg; two brothers: Fred and Godfrey Plotz, Cedar Rapids, and four sisters: Mrs. Frank (Florentine) Krall and Mrs. Frank (Lillian) Cach, both of Cedar Rapids; Mrs. Charles (Bernice) Held, Saugus, California, and Mrs. Edward (Mary Ann) Stastny, Mt. Vernon.
Memorial services will be conducted at the Murdoch Chapel, Marion at a time to be announced later. Interment will be in Oak Shade cemetery. Friends may call at the Chapel.
