Earl Booze Dies; Rites Wednesday
Earl L. Booze, 74, of 904 Tenth street, Marion, a former Marion merchant, died Monday at 9:15 p.m. in a Cedar Rapids hospital following a long illness.
He was born Dec. 18, 1881, on a farm near Robins, and the greater part of his life was spent in Linn county, He was married to Lulu Crouse Nov. 21, 1906, in Cedar Rapids. He engaged in the real estate and insurance business for many years. He was general agent for the Modern Woodmen of America. Mr. Booze organized and sponsored a Junior Modern Woodmen club in Marion and for a number of years produced the annual Halloween parade.
He was a member of the First Church of Christian Scientist of Cedar Rapids; Marion lodge No. 6 A.F. and A.M., and of the Modern Woodmen of America.
Surviving, in addition, to his wife, are two sisters, Mrs. Wade (Pearl) Stookey of Marion, a twin of Mr. Booze's, and Mrs. Maude Stookey, of Cedar Rapids.
Memorial services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Murdoch cchapel, Marion, by a reader of the First CHurch of Christ Scientist of Cedar Rapids. Burial will be in Oak Shade cemetery. Friends may call at the chapel.
