Verda M. Widger, 82, of Winslow House Care Ceneter, a lifelong resident of Marion, died early Wednesday in a Cedar Rapids hospital following a long illness. She was born July 24, 1897, at Marion.
Miss Widger was a graduate of Marion High School and the Cedar Rapids Business College. She retired in 1967 as executive secretary of the Allis Chalmers Co., where she had been employed for 52 years. She was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church, Chapter 183 of O.E.S. and the Milwuakee Women's Club.
There are no immediate survivors.
Services: 11 a.m. Saturday at the Murdoch Chapel in Marion by the Rev. Jay A. Miller. Burial: Oak Shade Cemetery, Marion. Friends may call at the funeral home after 11 a.m. Friday.
