Margaret Marion Rupe, 65, of 371 17th St. SE died Monday at a Cedar Rapids hospital following a long illness.
Born Jan. 6, 1915, at German Township in Grundy County, she was married to Elmer Fredrick Rpue on June 4, 1935, at Iowa City. She taught in rural elementary schools in Iowa for 10-years and was later employed as a secretary for Cedar Rapids Block Co. until retiring in 1969. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and graduated from Iowa State Teachers College at Cedar Falls.
Surviving in addition to her husband are her mother, Maggie Beving of Wellsburg; three daughters {private}; one sister, Alyce Luwe of Wausau, Wis.; one brother, Leroy Beving of Wellsburg; and two grandchildren.
Services: 1 p.m. Thursday at Turner Chapel East by Elmer Linkenback of Calvary Baptist Church. Burial: Oak Shade Cemetery, Marion. Friends may call at Turner Chapel East after 2 p.m. today. Friends may, if they wish, make a memorial contribution to the Diabetic Research Fund, University of Iowa, Iowa City.
