Services Saturday for Former Resident
Funeral services were conducted from Yocom chapel Saturday for Mrs. Mary Shook 93, widow of Daniel Shook, a Civil War veteran, who die Thursday in the Iowa Soldiers Home, Marshalltown. Rev. C.J. Biddle of Perry officiated at the service at 10 a.m. and burial was in Oak Shade cemetery.
Mrs. Shook was born in Ohio in 1854. She moved with her parents to Kansas in 1858 and in 1885 she was married to Mr. Shook, who died in 1893. Frank Shook, their only child, died in Marion in 1919. Before going to Marshalltown seven years ago, she had resided in the Clifford Beall home. She as a member of the Marion Christian church.
