Lewis Hess, 70, a lifelong resident of Marion and vicinity, died Saturday at 9:30 p.m. He was born near Bertram Aug. 11, 1868, the son of Abraham and Mary Foulk Hess.Never married, Mr. Hess made his home with his sister Mrs. George W. Wood, who died here April 4, and with his brother, John Hess, of Marion, who survives. He is also survived by a sister, Mrs. Martha Allen of Long Beach, Calif., and an uncle, Hugh Foulk, of Marion. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Balster and Hall chapel by the Rev. C.O. Monroe, pastor of the Free Methodist church, and burial will be in Oak Shade cemetery.
