Walter Leslie Rath of routh 1, Marion, a lifelong resident of Cedar Rapids and vicinity and a retired farmer, died at 1 p.m. Monday following a brief illness. Born Feb. 1, 1881, on a farm north of Cedar Rapids, which is now a part of Hiawatha, he was married to Merne Albaugh Feb. 19, 1908, in Kenwood. Surviving are his wife and a half sister, Alma Rath of Dinuba, Calif.
Services: Turner chapel 3:30 p.m. Thursday by the Rev. Bernard Olson of Kenwood Methodist church. Burial: Shiloh cemetery. Friends may call at the chapel. The family requests that flowers be omitted.
