Fred "Ted" Liddle, 85, of 2180 Ninth Ave., and a lifelong resident of Marion, passed away at 12:15 a.m. Tuesday April 25 in a Cedar Rapids hospital. He was born the son of Charles E. and Sarah Speh Liddle on Nov. 10, 1886 at Marion. On June 5, 1907 at Marion he was married to Flora Lutz who passed away Feb. 15, 1959. Mr. Liddle was employed as a machinist with the Milwaukee Railroad for 49 years. He was a member of the Marion Christian Church and the Odd Fellows Lodge.
Surviving are four nieces, Helen L. Conger, Mrs. Kenneth Domer and Mrs. Carl Smith, all of Marion, and Mrs. LaVerne Staman of Myrtle Point, Ore.
Services: 1:30 p.m. Thursday, April 27 at the Murdoch chapel in Marion, conducted by the Rev. Peter Morgan. Interment Shiloh Cemetery. Friends may if they wish contribute to the Marion Christian Church Memorial Fund. Friends may call after 1 p.m. Wednesday and until 1 p.m. Thursday when the casket will be closed.
