Death of W.G. Thomas
William G. Thomas died Monday morning at his home in Cedar Rapids, following an extended illness. He was well known in this city, having married a former Marion woman, Mrs. Florence Baughman Sargeant, who survives him. Mr. Thomas was for a number of year [sic], chief clerk at large of the sixth division, railway mail clerks but the past three years has been associated in business with E.A. Higley. He was prominent in the Masonic and Knight of Pythias lodges. The funeral was held Wednesday afternoon at the home, 2200 Washington avenue. Burial was made in Oak Shade cemetery, Marion.
