Mrs. Irvin L. Ford, 66, a life long resident of Marion, passed away at 6:45 a.m. Wednesday at her home 1185 Tenth st., following a long illness.
She was born Jessie E. Ives, the daughter of the late John J. and Ida Marble Ives, on Dec. 6, 1887 at Marion. Mrs. Ford graduated from Marion high school with the class of 1906 and attended Cornell college and Iowa State Teachers college. She was married to Mr. Ford at Marion on Oct. 14, 1914.
Mrs. Ford was a member of the Marion Presbyterian church and was the church organist for almost forth years. She was also a member of Circle No. 3, Presbyterian Woman's organization; Marion chapter No. 183, O.E.S.; Marion Linn chapter, D.A.R.; Reading circle; Cary club; Alpha Gamma Delta Mothers club and the Klatter Klub.
Surviving in addition to her husband are three daughters: Mrs. Wilbert D. (Mary Ellen) Friehauf, Yakima, Wash.; Mrs. Maurice (Dorothy Mae) Jacobs, Perry, and Miss Frances M. Ford at home. Five grandchildren: Mary and Anne Jacobs of Perry and Gregory, Norman and Nancy Kathryn Friehauf of Yakima and a brother, Norman M. Ives of Long Beach, Cal. A son, Norman L. Ford and a sister, Mary Ives Anderson preceded her in death.
Memorial services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at the Marion Presbyterian church by the Rev. C.V.R. DeJong and interment will be in Oak Shade cemetery. Friends may call at the Murdoch Funeral Home.
