Mrs. Frank Minor, 75, of 1240 Fourteenth street, Marion, died Friday at 6:20 a.m. after a long illness.
Born Sept. 22, 1875, on a farm north of Marion, she was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William A. Austin, early residents of Linn county. With the exception of eight years in Canada, Mrs. Minor spent her life in Marion. She graduated from Marion high school in 1893. She was married to Fray Dye, Jan. 1, 1895. Mr. Dye died in 1916. In 1921 she was married to Frank Minor, who died in 1934.
Mrs. Minor was a member of the Marion Methodist church, Marion chapter 183, O.E.S., Robert Mitchell W.R.C., and the American Legion Auxiliary.
Surviving are a son, Harlan A. Dye, of Marion; one grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; two sister, Mrs. Sayde Scott, Santa Ana, Calif., and Mrs. A.R. Jordan of Cedar Rapids, and a brother, John C. Austin, Miami, Fla. A son, Charles Edward Dye, was deputy Linn county auditor when he died in 1931.
Services will be conducted in the Yocom-Murdoch chapel Monday at 2 p.m. by the Rev. James P. Gable. The Eastern Star will assist in the services. Burial will be in Oak Shade cemetery. Friends may call at the chapel after 7 p.m. Saturday.
