He was born in Canada near the city of Hamilton, Ontario, July 7, 1855, and came with his parents to Iowa a babe in arms, the family settling near Sand Springs. Here he lived until his marriage, when he moved to a farm near Lyle, Minnesota. Early in life he joined the Reformed Presbyterian church and at the time of his marriage, he joined his wife as a member of the Methodist church and was always a faithful attendant and supporter.
He is survived by his cherished wife and two sons, Shelton William of Houston, Texas and James Renwick of New Orleans. These busy sons were with him during his recent illness. A daughter, Chloe Greer Stocker, preceded him in death. He is also survived by four brothers and three sisters; Robert John of Charlotte, Michigan, Cameron K. of Monticello, George N. of Anaheim, California, Mrs. William H. Ensyn, Los Angeles, Miss Margaret Greer, Monticello, Mrs. Howard C. Irvine, Birmingham.
