Kenneth J. Conley, 85, of 4909 Indian Creek Way, died Friday, June 17, 2005, in Bickford Cottage, Marion. Services: 11 a.m. Monday, Murdoch Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Marion, by the Rev. Thomas Hedtke. A luncheon will be held at St. Paul's Lutheran Church following the service. Burial: Oak Shade Cemetery, Marion. Friends may call from 3 to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Wilma, on Oct. 20, 2004.
Kenneth was born, the son of John and Lulu Aldrich Conley, on Nov. 27, 1919, near Hale. The family later moved to Pine River, Minn., where he graduated from high school. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II on the island of Guam.
After returning from overseas he worked at LaPlant Choate in Cedar Rapids, where he met his wife, Wilma Weis. They were united in marriage on May 1, 1948. Following their marriage they farmed until moving to assisted living in July 2004.
Kenneth raised Tamworth, then Yorkshire hogs and Red Angus cattle. He enjoyed livestock and all animals, as well as working the land. Kenneth also was an avid bowler. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Marion....
