Mrs. Eliza G. Graham, a resident of the Prairie Chapel neighborhood for 42 years, died at a Cedar Rapids hospital at 8:30 p.m., Friday, June 2, following a long illness.
Mrs. Graham was born northwest of Cedar Rapids, August 16, 1860, the daughter of John and Elizabeth Depoy Drake, and was married at the family home March 21, 1883, to T.J. Graham. To this union was born a son and a daughter, J. Oliver Graham and Mrs. Nellie Plummer, both of Marion. The husband died April 19, 1939. Other survivors include two sisters and three brothers, Mrs. John Ramsey, of Marion, Mrs. George Miller, of Marion, Elmer Drake of LaVerne and Ben and Harry Drake of Palo.
Following their marriage, the Grahams lived for ten years in Crawford county, and as long in Woodbury county, before coming to their late home five miles northeast of Marion in 1902. She was a member of the Prairie Chapel Methodist church.
Funeral services were held from the Yocom chapel in Marion Monday afternoon at four o'clock, with the Rev. J.P. Van Horn, a former pastor in charge of the service. Burial was made in the Oak Shade cemetery.
