From death notice on Friday January 9, 1942 Cedar Rapids Gazette...Born in St. George, New Brunswick, May 16, Mrs. Hicks moved to Peoria, Ill., with her parents when she was 14 years old, later living in Pike county, Mo., before going to Chicago. She married Stephen Palmer Hicks in 1877 and came to Cedar Rapids in 1890. She had lived most of the time since then in the house where she died. The only known survivors are two nephews, Major Henry Goodison and John Goodison, both of DeKalb, Ill....
