Harry Vernon Van Antwerp, 76, a former Cedar Rapids resident, died Monday at the home of his daughter, Mabel Frese, in Pottsville, Ark., after a brief illness.
Born in Cedar Rapids Jan. 19, 1889, he had lived here most of his life. His wife, Gladys Pearl, died in 1947. He was a veteran of World war I (this is what is typed).
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Frese and Mrs. Harry Cook of Cedar Rapids; a son, Carl of Iowa City; two brothers, Ralph of Cedar Rapids and Frank in the state of Washington; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Services: Beatty-Beurle funeral home at 1:30 p.m. Thursday by the Rev. Fred T. Miller of Edgewood Baptist church. Burial: Oak Shade cemetery, Marion. Friends may call at the funeral home after 9:30 a.m. Thursday.
Members of Last Man's club, Company D, are to meet at the funeral home to attend the services.
