Cynthia Luella Hutton, 75, a life long Marion resident, died at 4:50 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 12, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Clyde Scott, seven miles northeast of Marion. She had been ill the past week.
The daughter of George E. and Serena Todd White, she was born August 20, 1871 at Marion. Graduating from Marion high school with the class of 1890, she taught for a few years in Linn county rural schools. On January 8, 1896, she was married to Albert R. Hutton at Marion. Mr. Hutton died May 19, 1928. Mrs. Hutton has been living with her daughter since last September. She was a member of the First Methodist church and of the American Legion auxiliary 298.
Surviving are four children, Mrs. Grace Scott and Robert, Marion, George W. Hutton, Cedar Rapids, and Mrs. Edith Boldt, Iowa City; 14 grandchildren; one great grandchild; a sister, Mrs. Sarah Hutton, Marion, and a brother, Earl G. White, Perry. A son, William Randell Hutton died in 1921.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday from Yocom chapel with the Rev. James P. Gable officiating. Burial will be made in Oak Shade cemetery. Friends may call at the Chapel.
