The Rev. L. C. Lemon, 70, for years prominent in the Methodist church and recently proprietor of the Guernsey Haven dairy, died suddenly at his home at 11 a.m. Monday at Mt. Vernon, following a heart attack. Mr. Lemon has held pastorates in Davenport, Clinton, New Hampton, Anamosa and Osage and was superintendent of the Davenport district for six years following which he retired from active ministry. He had resided in Mt. Vernon since he became superintendent of the district.

Surviving are his widow and two sons, Kenneth, at home, and Keith of Sterling, Colo., and several grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Methodist church Mt. Vernon. The Rev. E. T. Gough, pastor, was in charge, assisted by Dr. Frank Cole and Dr. Earle A. Baker.
