August Howeler, an old resident of this city, and for nearly forty years engaged in the milling business here, died Friday afternoon at the home at the west edge of the city. He had been in failing health for two years, but his final illness was of about a week's duration, altho he was up and around a little until the day of his death.
Mr. Howeler had reached the ripe old age of 91 years, and had retired from active business only about seven years ago. He is survived by two sons, Henry and Charles and one daughter, Eda, all at home.
The funeral was held Sunday afternoon at the Turner chapel with the Rev. H.G. Finney in charge. Burial was in Oak Shade cemetery.
