DEATH OF REV. LEE
Mary old time Marion folks are mourning the dath of Rev. James Lee, a veteran preacher of the Methodist church and an ex-soldier of the Civil War.
Death came to him in the Marion Sanitorium early Tuesday morning, from old age and the after effects of a fall received some months ago. His home of late has been in Cedar Rapids at 108 South Seventh Street, but for many years he was a resident of Marion.
In many ways he was a most remarkable man. For 75 years he held membership in the Methodist church and for 65 years was one of its preachers, serving several Illinois pastorates, and for eight ears was a missionary in Georgia.
He served three years in the war and was a captain in an Illinois regiment--the 93rd Ifn., and belonged to the G.A.R. at Cedar Rapids.
He was a strong man and until his injury was ever ready to do service in church or in citizenship. His wife died two years ago. Mrs. Chest Pollins of Cedar Rapids is his only daughter.
