Merle Carl Jayne Passed Away After A Short Illness

A short illness of a sinus infection which developed into meningitis was fatal Tuesday to Merle Carl Jayne 20, of Marion. Mr. Jayne was the youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. John Jayne, old Marion road, and was born here October 4, 1916. He attended the Marion schools and was a member of the Methodist church here. He was married April 17 of this year to Miss Lucille Heinen of Cedar Rapids, who survives with his parents and the following brothers and sisters: Bruce of Indianapolis, Indiana, Vernon of Des Moines, Arnold and Roy of Cedar Rapids, Harry and Don of Marion, Mrs. Delbert LaBarge of Waubeek, and Mrs. Carl Miller and Mrs. Harry Jordan of Cedar Rapids.
Funeral services will be held in the Yocom chapel Friday at 2:30 p.m. and burial will be in Oak Shade cemetery.
