Grace Beatrice Dignan was born at Oxford Junction, Iowa, May 8, 1899, and died at her home in Omaha, Nebr., May 11, 1918. She had been ill only a few days with peritonitis, when it was deemed necessary to perform an operation to save her life, but she passed away soon after the anesthetic had been administered.

She was educated in the Marion schools and a young Women's seminary, at Dubuque. At the age of twelve she united with the Methodist Episcopal church, of which she remained a member to the end.
Her sudden death was a great shock to her family and friends. Besides her parents, she is survived by her grandmother, Mrs. Julia Kimball of Marion.
The funeral was held Monday, May 13, from the Methodist church, conducted by Rev. A.H. Hanscon. Interment was in Oak Shade cemetery.
