Mrs. Lillie Woods Emerson, a resident of Marion since 1885, died at her resident, 912 Ninth avenue, Saturday about 1:15 p.m.
She was born at Newville, Penn., August 30, 1859, the daughter of J.W. and Sarah E. Woods. She was married September 15, 1909 to Jessie M. Emerson, who died in 1911. She is survived by one brother, James Woods, who made a home with her, and by two nieces, Mrs. Sarah Hakes of Solon and Mrs. Louise McDonald of Cedar Rapids.
Mrs. Emerson was a life-long member of the Presbyterian church, and held her membership in Marion chapter No. 183, O.E.S.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon at the Yocom chapel by Rev. C.V.R. DeJong, pastor of the Presbyterian church. Burial was made in Oak Shade.
Relatives and friends from a distance to attend the funeral service were Lee Smith and Mrs. Lillian Smith of Savanna, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hakes and daughter, Donna, of Solon; Mr. and Mrs. William McDonald and son, Jimmie, Mr. and Mrs. Chester Pollins and daughter, Meriwyn and Mr. and Mrs. Ray Valentine of Cedar Rapids.
