Esther M. Knight, 69, of Cedar Rapids, died Friday, May 29, 200, in her home after a long illness.

Services are at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 2, 2009 at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids by Chaplain Christine Wagner-Hecht. Family will greet friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial is at Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.

Survivors include her husband, Ron; three children, Ace (Jonell) Moore of Monmouth, Misty (Jim) Mantor of Des Moines and Chuck (Sue) Easterday of Cedar Rapids; two stepchildren, Randy Knight of Marion and Robyne (Don) Bartlett of Anamosa; 13 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Terrance Easterday; a great-granddaughter, Kennedy Easterday; and a brother, Charles Klein.

Esther was born Jan. 27, 1940, the daughter of Truman and Edith (Ward) Klein, in Iowa City. On Oct. 15, 1977, she married Ronald Knight in Vinton. For 23 years, Esther worked for Linn County Home Care, retiring in 2002. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Mercy in memory of Esther.
