Jackson Sentinel, June 22, 1893

William J. Orr, son of John Orr, a farmer residing about three miles northeast of Maquoketa, drowned in the Cedar River, about one mile above the business part of Cedar Rapids. Mr. Orr was a young man of twenty-six years of age and a bookkeeper and collector for the Electric Light and Power Company. He completed a course in the business college about a month ago when he accepted his present position. The remains wee brought to his father's home on Monday morning. The funeral occurred Tuesday afternoon and was attended by a large number of the members of Peerless Lodge No. 60, K. of P. The interment occurred at the Andrew cemetery.
