Barbara Jean Wise Burnside 1932 - 1956

Barbara Jean Wise Burnside, daughter of Roy and Gertie C. Lund Wise was born near Central City, Sept. 21, 1932 and died at Mercy hospital in Anamosa, April 15, 1956 at the age of 23 years, 7 months and 23 days.

She spent her entire life near Central City and graduated from Central City high school with the class of 1950.

Barbara was united in marriage to Howard Burnside, Sept. 20, 1950 at the Little Brown church near Nashua. Since their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Burnside had resided on the Burnside home farm five miles northeast of Central City. To this union was born one daughter, Jeanne Elaine. Mrs. Burnside was a member of the Methodist church of Central City. Besides her husband and daughter, she leaves to mourn her passing: her mother, three brothers, Marion, and James of Central City and LeRoy of Marion, four sisters, Mrs. Henry Folken of Waterloo, Mrs. Elmer Stutt of Central City, Mrs. Albert Oltmanns, and Mrs. Emil Oltmanns of Anamosa, and a host of friends and relatives. She was preceded in death by her father and one brother, William.

Funeral services were held in the Central City Methodist church Wednesday, April 18 with the Rev. O. L. Allison in charge. Burial was in Mt. Clark cemetery. Pallbearers were Glen Comley, Wallis Henderson, Junior Bolton, Marion Himes, Kenneth Wear and Glenn Wall. Arrangements were in charge of the Passmore funeral home.
