ROY WISE DEATH
Roy Wise, 64 , died Wednesday, Jan. 12 at 7:30 a.m. at his home. Funeral services will be conducted at the Central City Methodist church Friday at 2 p. m. Burial will be at Mt. Clark cemetery. Friends may call at the Passmore funeral home. The obituary will be published in the News-Letter and New Era of Jan. 20.

LEROY WISE DEATH
LeRoy Wise, son of Margaret Simpson Wise and James B. Wise, was born at Savanna, Ill, June 12, 1890 and died at his farm home near Central City Jan. 12, 1955 at the age of 64 years and seven months. He grew to manhood near Sabula where he attended school and engaged in farming. He was married to Gertrude C. Lund of Sabula at Clinton Dec. 16, 1914. Mr. and Mrs. Wise celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary at a family gathering Dec. 16, 1954. To this union children were born, Marion at home, James L. of Central City, Mrs. Henry Folken (Elsie) of Waterloo, LeRoy C. of Marion, Mrs. Elmer Stutt (Laurena) of Central City, Mrs. Albert Oltmanns (Betty), Mrs. Emil Oltmanns (Gertrude) both of Anamosa, Mrs. Howard Burnside (Barbara) of Central City. A son, William Albert, preceded him in death Oct. 25, 1951. Mr. Wise spent all his married life engaged in farming in Iowa with the exception of eight years when the family resided near Belden, Neb. The family lived near Central City for 26 years. Besides his widow and children, he leaves to mourn his passing, 15 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, three brothers, Ira, Bob and Bill all of Sabula; one sister, Mrs. Henry Block of Clinton; besides a host of other relatives and friends. Mr. Wise, a member of the Methodist church of Central City, was a kind and considerate father, always putting the welfare of his family first. Services were conducted at the Methodist church Friday by the Rev. A. K. Hauser of Jesup. Burial was in Mt. Clark cemetery.
