AUDRE DENE THARP FEDERSPIEL

“Home At Last” - Manchester lady, 81 years old, (born 2/2/22) passed away in her home in Memphis TN, July 27, 2003. Following numerous illness and a weak heart. Audre was a 1940 graduate, who attended both Hopkinton High School and Manchester; daughter of the former owner of City Bakery in Hopkinton. As a child and young adult Audre attended services at the Gospel Hall, in Manchester. Audre was a long time employee of Montgomery Wards in Aurora, IL where she first went to work as a window trimmer then sold major appliances. She was married to the former Nickolas Federspiel on April 30th, 1944 who preceded her in death, and was the mother of two. She served with the Aurora Township Democratic Women’s Club, Aurora IL. Her father William D. Tharp of Potosi, Grant, WI was married to her mother Amy Lavina Minkler and her Great Aunt Mary Mae Fenstermaker Bishop. Also preceding her in death are two brothers, William Bruce and Retired USAF SSGT David Berkley and one sister Amy Isabelle Tharp Webb. She is survived by her children, Nickolas Bruce Federspiel of Plano, TX; daughter Sheila Kay Federspiel Hoefer of Dallas, TX ; one grandchild, Belinda Kay Flowers Albaugh and one great grand daughter Sarah Ashley Albaugh. Survived also by her niece, Elenore (Ione) Nietert Allred of Marshfield MO and her sister-in law Mrs. Bruce (Ruth Pinch) Tharp of Marion, IA. Audre made her home for a brief period in the seventies in Indianola, IA and made her final home of 30 years in Memphis, TN. Audre’s ashes will be interred at the family’s cemetery in Boulder Cementery, Buffalo TWP, Linn County, IA.
