Cedar Rapids Standard, reprinted in the Jackson Sentinel, May 22, 1884.

Yesterday, May 7th, the Grand Lodge of Masons of Iowa laid the cornerstone of the new Masonic Library building of Cedar Rapids. An invitation had been extended by the Cedar Rapids lodges to all affiliated Masons in good standing to be present and unite in the ceremonies. The occasion no doubt was one of unusual interest.

On the same day the grand officers also laid the cornerstone of St. Luke’s Hospital, to be erected by the Episcopal Church.
