Oil inspector, State of Iowa, 1893-1917; president, Torch Press, Cedar Rapids, Ia., 1907-30; now retired. Trustee, Gettysburg College, 1903- ; dir., Am. Trust and Savings Bank; delegate to Rep. Nat'l Conv., 1912 and 1916. Author: 'The Fascination of Prints'; 'The Delights of a Hobby'; 'History of Linn Co., Iowa', etc. Editor of special editions of classics; collector of first editions, bindings, and of Leigh Hunt.
