DEATH TAKES L.L. BROCKWAY; RITES THURSDAY
Lynas L. Brockway, longtime Des Moines county resident; died at 8:45 a.m. He was well known here, where four sisters survive.
Funeral services will be held at the M.E. church at Kingston Thursday at 2 p.m., with interment in Dolbee cemetery. The body was taken to Fry funeral home at Mediapolis, Ia.
He was born in Lee County, Aug. 19, 1861, the son of Josiah and Mary Brockway. He came to Des Moines County when four years old, and had resided at or near Kingston 73 years.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Dora Brockway; three daughters, Mrs. Liddie Creelman and Mrs. Frank Homebraker, Oakville, Ia., and Mrs. Harry E. Washburn, Mediapolis; two grandchildren, Ray Creelman and Geraldine Washburn; five sisters, Mrs. Anna Dietrich, Mrs. Fannie Hinson, Mrs. Oren Avery, and Mrs. Dora Pforts, all of Burlington, and Mrs. Herbert Rutter, Oakville; and three brothers, William, Muscatine, Ia., John, Kingston and Harry, Oakville.
