Sunday noon recorded the death of Mrs. Mary Gunlock, one of Keokuk's most highly respected women. Death occurred at the home of her only living son, William Gunlock, at 1729 Carroll street, at 12:25 o'clock.
About a month ago Mrs. Gunlock sustained a bad fall, her right shoulder being crushed. Paralysis was the serious result and this finally caused death. Mrs. Gunlock was a woman who had the entire love and respect of the community in which she lived and all of her friends have been sorry to hear of the fatal termination of her injury.
The decedent was born in Germany on June 3, 1839, being seventy-six years of age at the time of her death. While still in the old country, she was married to Charles Gunlock. Forty-five years ago they came to America, settling first in New York. Six years later they moved to Keokuk and this city had remained the decedent's home since that time.
Mrs. Gunlock was a devout member of the German Evangelical church of this city, and was associated with all church endeavors when her health permitted. Of her three sons only one survives. William Gunlock, with whom she had made her home for several years.
Her two other sons met sudden deaths in the last five years. Charles died of poison in Lamar, Mo., and Fred of sunstroke in Arkansas. Eight grandchildren survive. The funeral arrangements have not been completed as yet.
FUNERAL NOTICE.
