From the Daily Gate City, Tuesday May 12, 1891:
"At 6:30 o'clock Sunday morning occurred the death of Mrs. Lida [sic] Baldwin. For nine weeks she had been helpless from partial paralysis at the home of her daughter, Mrs. John Welch, No. 115 South First street. She was born in Bedford, Penn., and was seventy-six years, three months, and twelve days old. In 1853 she and her husband Robert, who died eight years ago, removed to Crawfordville, Iowa, and shortly afterwards to Wayne county. From there they came to Keokuk in 1870. She is survived by the following children: Mrs. Welch, Mrs. Mary Hamlin, William, Daniel [Samuel?] and Hueston [sic], of this city; George, of Galland, and John, of Centralia, Kas."
