32-Caliber Revolver Which He Had in
His Possession Was
Discharged by Accident.

Charles Ford passed away at the Graham hospital last evening at 7:00 o'clock his death resulting from a bullet wound received last Friday evening at his home No. 1603 Main street, when a 32-caliber revolver which he had on his person accidentally discharged. The bullet entered his left side near the hip and at first was not thought to be dangerous. His decline was steady, however, and last evening the end came.

The accident will be remembered as happening early in the evening. Ford entered his home through a window the door being locked. As he went through the window he stumbled and fell against a trunk. A revolver which he carried in his inside coat pocket accidentally discharged, he receiving the bullet in his side. He was not discovered in his unfortunate condition for some time and when found in the room was removed to the Graham hospital for medical attention.

Is Well Known.
Charles Ford was one of the best known colored men of the city. He has lived here during his life and had been a teamster and also did general work. He was noted for his unusual strength and in his younger days was possibly one of the most powerful men of the city. Ford had been an employe of many concerns in the city and was known by many.

He was about fifty years of age and is survived by a sister, Mrs. Addie Fox of this city.

Funeral Services for the late Chas. Ford were conducted this afternoon at the A. M. E. church by Rev. Searcy, pastor. The hour of the services was 3 o'clock. Interment was made in Oakland cemetery.
